EXCAVATING THE FILIPINO...

For as long as I've been a poet, I've admired Tinfish Press for its fabulous experimental poetry from/re the Pacific in radically gorgeous designs. Entonces, I'm so pleased that publisher Susan Schultz asked me for, and will publish, a rather unique chapbook:

EXCAVATING THE FILIPINO IN ME

It will have an interview, visual poetry and a poem. The interview is wide-ranging but it will also "out" the poet Pearl Yasmin.  I won't say more on that except to say, compared to Pearl Yasmin, that whole Michael Derrick Hudson / Yi Fen Chou matter is ... amateur-hour.

More on my chap later!  Meanwhile, do check out one of Tinfish Press' latest offerings, chaps by Jen Crawford, Timothy Dyke, Salah Faik (trans. by Maged Zaher), and Joseph Han. They're wonderful and available as a series!

CHANCE POETRY?

I appreciate Chris Mansel's attention to my new book The Connoisseur of Alleys in The Daily Art Source. Chris asks, "Should poetry be left to chance? If it is 'generated' by a machine is it still chance?"

It's an interesting question because even when I (and others based on what I've read about others' processes) write consciously with "I" in place, chance often comes up in the process (as words define their own effect as much as the human does).

(Btw, if my source is a machine, it's probably a hybrid between human and machine, not purely a machine...but that's another story involving how I prefer trans ... Anyway, information on my MDR Poetry Generator HERE.)

DUENDE FROM THE MDR POETRY GENERATOR

I think I've written less than a handful of poems so far this year, which is ironic as I'm on my way to seeing 2015 with three poetry collections and an experimental biography.  I'm happy for The MDR Poetry Generator for allowing me to be prolific while I nap!

And the latest poetry collection to come out of said Generator is

DUENDE IN THE ALLEYS

!  Thanks to lars palm and swirl editions for publishing it.  Finally, I can say I'm published in Sweden!  And cyberspace, of course ...

Petra Palm did the cover image and I'm grateful!  Hope you enjoy my latest poetry collection HERE which is covered by
