"SARAJEVO BLUES"

I come late to this book but I already know it will be one of my most powerful poetry reads this year: SARAJEVO BLUES by Semezdin Mehmedinović. Indeed, it compelled a tanka:

"Sarajevo Blues"
--a tanka for and after Semezdin Mehmedinović

Let us go then, you
And I, in denial of
Shrouded streets, where red
Laser beams cut through dimness
And maybe we will be missed
